Artidoro Rodríguez Café (Artidoro), a boutique Peruvian coffee company, has opened its first U.S. coffee bar in Manassas.

“We are proud to be the first restaurant to host an Artidoro Rodriguez Peruvian coffee bar,” said Claudio Felipe Munoz, owner of Taty’s, a Peruvian restaurant. Taty’s, at 10768 Sudley Manor Drive, will host the bar inside its restaurant.

“Artidoro is committed to supporting Peruvian coffee growing whose objective is to open bridges between coffee communities and new international markets, said Félix Rodríguez, CEO of Artidoro Rodríguez Café. “Good coffee should not only be a pleasant consumer experience but also a means for coffee farmers to achieve their dreams.” After successful growth in Peru over the last seven years, the launch of the Artidoro brand in the United States is supported by two distributors: Costa Verde for supermarkets and Peruvian Foods for distribution in restaurants.

According to data from the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (Promperú), in 2023, the U.S. purchased $231 million worth of Peruvian coffee – more than 30% of the total $750 million exported last year. Coffee is one of Peru’s main agricultural export products, with 223,000 coffee-producing families managing 425,400 hectares of coffee annually. There are 14 coffee-producing regions, seven of which comprise 91% of the producers and the cultivable areas. Peru produces only Arabica coffee, with the main varieties being Tipica, Caturra, Borbón, and Pache.

The coffee bar is expected to open in the early summer of 2024.
